For the first time in the country, experts at Jahan Sanat Kermanshah have successfully designed and manufactured various components of guards and industrial universal joint.
The CEO of Jahan Sanat Kermanshah announced this achievement, stating that due to the increasing demand of the country’s industries for these components and the difficulties in importing them, the company’s specialists decided to dedicate all their efforts to manufacturing these parts. With the help of the Almighty, they have succeeded in this endeavor.
He mentioned that Jahan Sanat Kermanshah now has the capability to produce industrial universal joint in various sizes. He stated that this project is currently ready to enter the industrial production phase and to receive orders from both domestic and international customers.
The CEO of Jahan Sanat Kermanshah stated that the company, leveraging strong technical capabilities and extensive research, has undertaken the design, analysis, and provision of manufacturing blueprints for industrial universal joint. This effort comes in response to sanctions and high import prices, aiming to indigenize these components. They have successfully developed various sizes of cardan universal joint for industrial applications in sectors such as steel, cement, and heavy industries. Currently, these products are part of Jahan Sanat Kermanshah’s product portfolio. He emphasized that the universal joint are produced in different sizes and tailored to the type of Cardan shaft. Jahan Sanat-e Kermanshah ensures easy access to these components for repair and replacement purposes by offering them through a dedicated production line.
What is Cardan:
A Cardan is a mechanical steel component used to transfer torque and rotation between two moving mechanical parts that cannot be directly connected due to longitudinal distance or the need for relative rotational movement. It is placed between the two parts to compensate for the longitudinal distance.
Cardan shafts,They bear torque and are exposed to twisting and shear stress equal to the difference between the input torque and the load. Therefore, they must possess high strength and low weight to withstand the incoming stresses and torque effectively.
Components of a four-branch junction include:

Cardan shafts:
The cardan shafts, which is the main component of the cardan, consists of a male spline, a female spline, and a yoke. It is located between the flanges and the cordon universal joint and operates telescopically. Essentially, the driveshaft is a hollow (female spline) and solid (male spline) piece, which can be single-piece or two-piece, responsible for compensating longitudinal distance.
Flange:
Flanges are responsible for connecting the caradn to the output shaft of the drive and the input shaft of the driven mechanism. A cardan typically has two flanges: a front flange that connects to the output shaft of the drive and a rear flange that connects to the input shaft of the driven mechanism.
Universal joint:
In some mechanical devices (driving and driven), the rotating assemblies oscillate due to irregularities and changes in angles. To prevent breakage, it’s necessary for the universal joint to have angular flexibility. For this purpose, universal joints called universal joint are used on both ends of the driveshaft. The cardan universal joint allow the driveshaft to transmit rotation and torque at variable angles from the drive to the driven mechanism, accommodating oscillations and angular changes.
Universal joint are connected on one end to the Cardan and on the other end to a flange. These flanges are connected to the output shaft of the drive and the input shaft of the driven mechanism.
